TARGET Sales Management System - Application Notes
Pictures in TARGET
Requirements
The TARGET can store, display, and transfer to UEN pictures of
machines as long as certain rules are followed. To work with
TARGET (and UEN) your pictures must conform to the following rules:
- File must be of type JPEG with extension of .jpg
- Filename must be same as TARGET machine number; additional
pictures may have a single letter a-h appended to the number
for a total of 9 possible pictures. The appended letter form
may only be used if the plain number picture is provided.
- File size must be less than 100Kb (we suggest less than 50Kb)
- Picture should not exceed 600 pixels in larger dimension
Installing pictures
To install your pictures on TARGET, follow these steps
- Click Session at top of TWS screen
- Select Transfer
- In the bottom left window, double click JPG folder
- Use the windows in the top half of the display to find your pictures
- Select the picture(s) to move by clicking
- Click TRANSFER on the right side
- Click OK
Viewing pictures
If a machine has a picture installed, the P<ict> option will
be displayed at the bottom of the screen in Machine Inquiry (F8).
Selecting this option will bring up your default web browser to
display the picture along with information about your company and
the machine. Several system control variables affect the way this
display appears. Note that this option displays only the FIRST
picture (the one without a letter after the number). The best way
to see all pictures is to use the W<eb> option.
Transfer to UEN
As long as the appropriate system control variable (UENTCP)
is set to allow picture transfer, pictures will be automatically
updated on UEN from your TARGET system each time you connect to
UEN.
Removing Pictures from TARGET
To remove a picture from TARGET (as opposed to replacing a picture), follow these steps:
- Log on to your TARGET with the username HSI and your special password
- At the command prompt, type the following command exactly as shows below
CD JPG
- For each picture you wish to remove, type the following command exactly as shown
(except for the machine number of course). In the example below, we are removing
the picture for machine number 1234
ERASE 1234.JPG
- Once you have removed all the pictures you need to remove, you should log off the
system by typing the following command
BYE
- If you use the Internet method of transmitting pictures to UEN, you should do an
update to UEN; since the picture no longer exists on your TARGET system, UEN will
remove it automatically when you do the update.
